Use My Music for Your Projects — Free (with Attribution)
Hey Creators!
If you're working on a podcast, YouTube video, social media content, a video game, or even an independent film — and you could use background music — I’d love for you to use my songs. I'm at a point in my career where being heard is more important than making a ton of money, so I want to offer my music generously.
Here’s how it works:
- Free for most projects: For creators doing non-commercial or small-scale work, I’m happy to let you use my music at no cost.
- Just give credit: All I ask in return is that you attribute the music to me somewhere in your credits, description, or wherever makes sense.
- Flexible formats & stems: If you want, I can provide different versions — full track, instrumental, or stems — so you can better fit the music to your project.
- Independent films / games / student work: Perfect. Whether you’re a film student making a short, a video game dev building levels, or an animator editing a demo — I want to support you.
- Commercial uses: If your project is monetized or growing in scale, just reach out! We can talk about a more formal license. (Think of this like how Moby does it — he offers free non-commercial use, but requires a separate license for commercial use.)
- Open to remixing / collaboration: If you want to build on my tracks (add vocals, effects, etc.), we can certainly talk about it.
Why I’m Doing This
- I want my music to reach as many people as possible, especially creators who might not have big licensing budgets.
- I believe in open creativity. Too many projects go under-resourced because music rights are expensive — I want to lower the barrier.
- I’m genuinely curious: I can’t wait to see (and hear) what you do with my songs.
How to Apply / Get the Music
- Email me with some details: who you are, what your project is (podcast, short film, game, etc.), and which track(s) you're interested in.
- Tell me how you plan to credit the music.
- I’ll send you the files you need (and stem versions, if necessary) along with a simple agreement so everything is clear.
- When you're done, I’d love to check out your project if you're okay sharing — I really want to celebrate what creators build with my music!
A Note on Ethics / Usage (Inspired by MobyGratis)
- My goal is to support creative and independent voices, not commercial campaigns.
- While I’m generous, I reserve the right to discuss different terms if a project becomes large-scale or profit-driven — just like how other artists (like Moby) require a separate license when usage becomes commercially significant.
- Please, don’t misrepresent your use - I trust creators, but honesty helps us both.
If you're interested, or have questions, or want to hear which songs might be a good fit for your project, just drop me a message. I’m excited to collaborate, support your vision, and be a part of your creative journey.
Let’s make something great together.
- Jesse (Rising J)
